Mäurer & Wirtz’s 2014 Artist EditionGerman fragrance house Mäurer & Wirtz is set to showcase several anniversary launches for its 4711 brand, at this month’s TFWA Tax Free World Exhibition in Cannes (Green Village: K50). On the 8 October the company will mark the 222nd anniversary of 4711.
Among the novelties is a 4711 Acqua Colonia Miniature Set which, aside from its presence on the German domestic market, is a global travel retail exclusive. The quintet was the subject of a soft launch in March.
The set features five of the brand’s most popular fragrances, presented in miniature Molanus bottles (a special bottle shape for 4711), packaged in a transparent gift box. The recommended price-point is €19.90.
Mäurer & Wirtz has added to its 2013 trio of limited-edition Nostalgia Tins with a new version for 2014. This year’s collector’s edition is a metal tin decorated with a historical design featuring the signature Bremer blue and gold colour scheme that adorns the 4711 bottle.
The Nostalgia Tin contains a 150ml bottle of the brand’s original Eau de Cologne. It is priced at €32.
Concluding the anniversary offerings is the upscale 2014 Artist Edition, available in two versions, each priced at €247.11. Designed by husband and wife team Koralie and SupaKitch, this is an 800ml bottle that will be available from 8 October in just two locations: the House of 4711 in Cologne, and the 4711 store at Cologne Airport. Only 944 pieces are available (472 of each artist’s design).
Mäurer & Wirtz Director International Sales Jan Marcel Katuin commented: “2014 is a special year for 4711. The brand is 222 years old, which is a grand and almost unique heritage for a fragrance house. We are especially proud to be launching these skus in travel retail, and are especially delighted that our incredibly limited- edition 2014 Artist Tin will feature in travel retail in our 4711 store at Cologne Airport.”
