Maui Jim teams up with Manchester United in new multi-year partnership

Maui Jim has sealed a multi-year partnership with English football club Manchester United.

The Hawaiian brand will supply members of the Manchester United first team, academy and women’s teams with glasses from its sun and optical ranges. Maui Jim eyewear will be available in the Old Trafford Megastore from 26 February.

A further co-branded eyewear collection, designed with fans in mind, will launch later this year.

Manchester United Group Managing Director Richard Arnold said the partnership demonstrated the club’s ability to attract the world’s most premium brands.

Maui Jim Vice President Global Marketing Jay Black commented: “It is an honour to partner with one of the world’s most successful sports teams, within the world’s most popular sport.

“This collaboration gives us the chance to spread our ‘Aloha’ spirit and communicate the importance of wearing high quality technical eyewear.”

Manchester United boasts over 156 million social media connections. It has around 800 million global followers and a TV audience of 3.5 billion per year. The Maui Jim logo will feature on digital perimeter boards at all home games, with an average of 20 home games during a ten-month season.

The partnership complements Maui Jim’s expansion in travel retail, a key channel for the brand.
