USA. American airport specialty retailer the Marshall Retail Group (MRG) this week opened two new cafes at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, both themed under a proprietary concept called The Café at DCA.
The two cafes, each located near the Terminal 2 North and South security checkpoints, offer La Colombe coffee beverages along with heat and serve sandwiches and a diverse product assortment including souvenirs, books, magazines and travel essentials.
Local business Cameron’s Coffee & Chocolates – which employs adults living with intellectual disabilities through its Every1 Can Work initiative – offers a variety of products at both outlets, including chocolates, caramels and pretzels.
“The Café at DCA provides a custom-built amenity for passengers using the new security checkpoints in Terminal 2 at Reagan National,” said Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Vice President of Marketing and Concessions Jaimini Erskine. “It is also a welcome addition for non-ticketed visitors who now have access to more food and refreshments when dropping off or picking up airport travelers.”
The Cafe at DCA’s design evokes the architecture of Washington, D.C., featuring clean crisp lines and contrasting black and white finishes. An open grid ceiling opens up the otherwise modest footprint.
“We are so thrilled to launch yet another concept in partnership with the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport,” said MRG and InMotion CEO Toby Keir. “The Café at DCA provides a warm and inviting environment for airport guests to either grab n’ go or sit and relax.”
Other MRG concepts at the airport include Capitol File News, America! and two InMotion storefronts, as well as two upcoming retail concepts.
“The Cafe at DCA is a great addition to our evolving retail mix at Reagan National Airport,” said MarketPlace Development President Mike DiCosola. “MRG is a valued partner at DCA, and their brands continue to enhance the concessions experience we offer for travellers.”
