MAG USA to open new Escape Lounge at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International

USA. MAG USA has won a competitive tender to design, build and operate its 14th Escape Lounge in Terminal 3 at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. The development is a joint venture with Gideon Toal Management and Superior Hospitality Group.

The new 5,000sq ft post-security airfield view lounge will be a common-use facility, enabling travellers from any airline or status to access the amenities.

Plans for the lounge include hot and cold chef-curated food, premium alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, high-speed wifi, digital flight information and access to 7,000+ digital publications in 60+ languages from 120+ countries.

Strict cleaning and safety protocols will be in place for the Escape Lounge, including the compulsory use of masks, social distancing guides, ample sanitising stations and digital-only reading options.

Further, maître d’-style food service will deliver food directly to each guest’s seat to not only decrease movement around the lounge, but to provide guests with a more personalised experience, according to the operator.

MAG USA said the lounge’s design has been inspired by South Florida

Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport CEO/Director of Aviation Mark Gale said: “Expanding our offerings of premium amenities for airport guests is a long-term goal of FLL, and we are pleased that our new common-use lounge in Terminal 3 is nearing reality.”

He added: “For a nominal fee, Escape Lounge FLL can be a retreat for any airline passenger seeking an upgraded airport experience in between flights. The new lounge will join loyalty clubs and lounges from United and Delta, which operate in Terminals 1 and 2 respectively.”

MAG USA CEO Martin Jones said: “We’re thrilled to bring Escape Lounges to South Florida with the recent opening of Escape Lounge PBI and now the announcement of Escape Lounge FLL. Escape Lounges bring all of the amenities that travellers desire into one controlled space, delivering the most enjoyable pre- and post-flight experience.”

Access to Escape Lounge FLL – which has a variety of additional discounts and benefits for American Express card holders – is open to all travellers for US$40 if booked in advance or US$45 if paid at the door.
