MAC Cosmetics appoints Ukonwa Ojo as Senior Vice President Global Marketing

Ojo brings 22 years of brand experience to MAC Cosmetics

MAC Cosmetics has appointed Ukonwa Ojo as Senior Vice President Global Marketing effective 2 December. She will report to MAC Cosmetics Senior Vice President/General Manager Philippe Pinatel.

In this new role, Ojo will oversee MAC Cosmetics’ Consumer Marketing and Product Marketing teams and take ownership of its brand positioning and strategy.

Ojo will work across regions to deliver consumer engagement strategies, deliver product innovations and build brand awareness in key markets. She will also serve as the key global partner to MAC Cosmetics’ regional teams.

Ojo brings 22 years of brand experience to MAC Cosmetics. Throughout the years, she has been recognised for driving positive business results through differentiated strategies. She was included in Business Insider’s list of 25 Most Innovative CMOs. She was also named as World Federation of Advertisers’ Global Marketer of the Year, and WWD’s Brand Builder of the Year.

In addition to this, Ojo was included in Fast Company’s Top 100 list of Most Creative People in Business, Ebony Magazine’s Power 100 list, and the Financial Times Top 100 List of Minority Executives for three consecutive years.

Ojo has won plenty of accolades over the years including being part of Financial Times Top 100 List of Minority Executives for three consecutive years.

Ojo was most recently Chief Marketing Officer of Coty’s Consumer Beauty division; where she drove P&L and brand development strategies for Covergirl and Sally Hansen, Rimmel, Clairol and Massa Fragrances.

For three years, she held the role of Senior Vice President of Covergirl where she repositioned the brand. Prior to joining Coty, Ojo worked with leading companies such as Unilever, Reckitt Benckiser PLC, General Mills Corporation and Meadwestvaco Corporation.
