Luxottica Group secures ten-year renewals for Dolce & Gabbana and Versace licensing agreements

Luxottica Group has long-standing business relationships with both Dolce & Gabbana and Versace

Eyewear house Luxottica Group has secured early renewals for its exclusive licence agreements with Italian luxury fashion houses Dolce & Gabbana and Versace.

Both agreements were renewed for ten years.

The company will retain the licences for the development, production and worldwide distribution of Dolce & Gabbana and Versace sunglasses and prescription frames.

The renewed Dolce & Gabbana licensing agreement will run from 1 January 2020 to 31 December 2029; the Versace agreement will run from 1 April 2020 to 31 December 2029.

Dolce & Gabbana is a global and iconic brand and a true ambassador of ‘made in Italy’,” commented Luxottica Group Executive Chairman Leonardo Del Vecchio. “We look forward to continuing to shape the idea of luxury eyewear together in the decade ahead as we did in the last 15 years.”

Commenting on its partnership with the Luxottica Group, Dolce & Gabbana Founders Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana said: “It is with great pleasure that we confirm the extension of our fruitful collaboration with Luxottica Group through the renewal of our licence agreement.”

The designers added: “We are very confident that by continuing our partnership with Luxottica — the leading group in its industry — we will further realise the potential of the Dolce & Gabbana eyewear collections which are an increasingly significant part of the brand lifestyle.”

Speaking of the company’s collaboration with Versace, Luxottica Group Chief Executive Officer Francesco Milleri said: “We are pleased to renew our partnership with Versace, which marks the further extension of a long-standing relationship between our two companies dating back to 2003. Together we continue to create collections that express the wonder of Versace’s style through eyewear around the world.”

Versace Chief Executive Officer Jonathan Akeroyd said: “Versace is delighted to renew and further develop its strong and successful partnership with Luxottica. We look forward to the next chapter of our relationship where we will continue to innovate in the eyewear category.”
