Lukas Brosi named as new CEO of Zurich Airport

SWITZERLAND. The Board of Directors at (Flughafen Zürich) Zurich Airport has named Lukas Brosi as its new CEO, effective by the end of April. He replaces the well-regarded Stephan Widrig, who will leave the company at the end of that month to take on a new challenge after holding the post since January 2015.

Brosi joined the company in 2009 as Head Financial Services. In February 2017 be became Chief Financial Officer and a member of the Management Board.

The company said: “With this appointment, the Board of Directors ensures a seamless transition in management and continuity in strategic orientation. The Board of Directors is convinced that Lukas Brosi will further develop the company both strategically and culturally and successfully lead it through the entrepreneurial priorities and challenges of the coming years.”

Brosi has been involved in the company’s digitalisation projects and supported its sustainability and environment programmes, particularly the company’s push to minimise greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2040.

Zurich Airport praised Brosi’s contribution during the pandemic. Through forward-looking financial management, he and his team helped drive a solid financial position without having to seek government funding, the company noted.
