Louis Vuitton set for Hamad International Airport debut with Qatar Duty Free

QATAR. Louis Vuitton is soon to open its first store at Hamad International Airport, Doha, in partnership with Qatar Duty Free, The Moodie Davitt Report can reveal.

The new space will feature an eclectic offer of leathergoods, ready-to-wear, textiles, watches, jewellery, accessories, fragrances and shoes from the women’s and men’s universes. It will also highlight the Maison’s continued focus on travel.

The opening represents a statement of confidence by Louis Vuitton in the future of the global travel market and in the stature of the Qatar Duty Free/Hamad International Airport retail environment.

The brand, owned by LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LMVH), adds further lustre to Qatar Duty Free’s already strong luxury line-up at Hamad International Airport in a key year for both airport and retailer.

Hamad International Airport, the Official Airport Partner of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, will open its much-anticipated airport expansion later this year.

The phased expansion will increase annual passenger capacity to over 58 million passengers this year. Phase B, which will commence after the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, will increase HIA’s capacity to more than 60 million.

As reported, Qatar Duty Free has been performing strongly amid fast-rising traffic numbers and increased sales per passenger. Traffic rose +41% year-on-year in 2021 to 17.7 million passengers while sales per passenger increased by over +70% compared with the same period a year earlier.

The expansion project at Hamad International Airport will add 11,720sq m of commercial space, packed with a diverse variety of shopping and food & beverage offers.
