Louis Dambrine to replace departing CC Lee in senior Asia role at Lagardère Travel Retail

ASIA. Lagardère Travel Retail has announced that Charn Cheng Lee [known popularly as CC Lee], is to leave the company in order to take on new career challenges.

Louis Dambrine will now take the role of CEO for Singapore and Malaysia. Dambrine joined the travel retailer in 2008.

Eudes Fabre, currently CEO of China, will take on the company’s Hong Kong business as CEO, Greater China.

The changes will take effect on 1 December.

Lee has spent five years with the group and has been instrumental in growing the company’s business in the region. He has overseen a development of more than 50 retail stores and foodservice outlets in Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong.

Dambrine will now manage a network of over 40 stores including luxury fashion, gourmet foods and confectionery, travel essentials and foodservice.

He began his career at Lagardère Travel Retail as Business Controller, responsible for the oversight of group subsidiaries in Asia, Poland, Hungary and Belgium. He moved to Singapore in 2012 as Finance Manager before taking the role of General Manager of Hong Kong in January 2015. Before joining the Lagardère group, Louis worked at Linedata Services and Arval-BNP Paribas Group in positions based in Paris and the Czech Republic.

Dambrine commented: “It is a great honour for me to take over CC’s role. CC has been a great mentor and inspiration for me during the last five years both in Singapore and Hong Kong. Fabre said: “Although the luxury market is going through a challenging period in Hong Kong, we see tremendous opportunity at Hong Kong International Airport over the coming years and I look forward to working with our very experienced team in Hong Kong to expand our successful presence into new concessions and categories.”
