Lotte Duty Free launches Valentine’s Day promotional campaign

SOUTH KOREA. Lotte Duty Free has announced a big promotional campaign to celebrate Valentine’s Day on 14 February, featuring major discounts across confectionery, beauty and watches.

From 1 February to 5 March, the campaign will run in downtown stores and via Lotte Duty Free’s online channels.

On all purchases of US$50 or above, shoppers can benefit from a discount of KRW5,000 (US$2.40). On fragrances, purchases of US$150 or more attract a discount of KRW10,000 (US$8.10), on brands including Versace, John Varvatos and Buly 1803.

Lotte Online Duty Free offers US$33 in membership points for purchases made in confectionery, fragrances, hair and body products, plus watches.

In addition, Lotte Duty Free’s overseas direct sourcing online mall LDF BUY will host various discount events from 1 February.

Shoppers who buy more than KRW80,000 (US$65) receive a -10% discount coupon. Customers can also gain up to -40% off on certain food supplements and beauty items, including Montblanc fragrances, Blackmores nutritional supplements or other selected health food or cosmetics goods from Japan and Australia. For some Australian products whose expiry date is nearing, discounts of up to -80% are available.

Separately, Lotte Duty Free is offering discounts of up to -80% on fashion brands such as Stuart Weitzman, Coach and Bally to mark the Year of the Rabbit.

Depending on the purchase amount, the retailer is also offering up to KRW400,000 (US$324) in credit for its LDF Pay digital payment platform, which can be used like cash at Lotte Duty Free stores. It is also offering discount coupons of up to KRW50,000 (US$40) at Luxe Mall, an online platform for selling customs-cleared goods to non-travellers – an initiative introduced during the pandemic.

A Lotte Duty Free official said, “In line with the upcoming Valentine’s Day and White Day [on 14 March, when people give reciprocal gifts to those who gifted to them on Valentine’s Day -Ed], we have prepared a special discount for items that are good for customers to gift to their lovers and families.” ✈
