
EUROPE. French global operator Lagardère Travel Retail has appointed Marion Engelhard to the position of CEO of Lagardère Travel Retail United Kingdom & Ireland. She took the reins on 1 October from Amaury Dehen who has become Chief Operating Officer of Lagardère Travel Retail in Abu Dhabi.
Engelhard – an Economics graduate from Prague’s University of Economics with a masters from EM Lyon – joined the Lagardère Group in 2006 in the internal audit department and became Business Controller in the duty free division in 2010.
She was promoted to CFO of Lagardère Travel Retail Italy in 2012 where she was active in the creation of the Italian subsidiary.

In 2017 she returned to Paris to head the Operations and Development Department at Lagardère Travel Retail’s central duty free division.
Changes in Bulgaria and Romania
Meanwhile, in central Europe, Mladen Yordanov has been appointed as CEO of Lagardère Travel Retail Bulgaria. Mladen graduated from the University of National and World Economy in the capital Sofia. He joined the Bulgaria office in 2008 and successively held the positions of Chief Financial Officer, Store Network Director, Deputy General Manager and Managing Director.

As we previously reported Marius Vacalau, the former Chief Operating Officer of Lagardère Travel Retail Romania, has been promoted to country CEO and will assume the new role from 1 November.
Stefan Picard, the former CEO of Lagardère Travel Retail Bulgaria and Romania has been appointed Executive Vice President Commercial Development and Transformation at Lagardère Travel Retail (in the duty free division).
