South Korean tobacco products company KT&G has extended its Raison line with the introduction of Raison Café, a new range of hazelnut coffee-scented cigarettes.
Launched in the Korean domestic market last month, Raison Café will roll out in Korean duty free shops in September, KT&G Overseas Brand Dept/Manager Choi Jihyun told The Moodie Report.
Containing 6.0mg of tar and 0.6mg of nicotine, Raison Café delivers the scent of hazelnut coffee by inserting ground coffee beans in the filter – a technique that has taken four years of research and development.

The side of the pack features three check boxes to emulate those found on take-out coffee cups.
Raison Café leverages on Korea being what KT&G describes as “a republic of coffee”: Koreans consumed 23.2 billion cups of coffee in 2011, with domestic coffee market growing +20% to hit US$2.6 billion.
