Key speakers revealed for TFWA Asia Pacific Conference 2023

ASIA PACIFIC. The Tax Free World Association has revealed details of the speaker programme for the upcoming TFWA Asia Pacific Conference & Exhibition 2023. The conference element will be staged between 09:00-13:15 SGT on 8 May in the Marina Bay Sands Expo Centre Grand Ballroom, Level 5.

The conference will open with an address from TFWA President Erik Juul-Mortensen, who will share his views on the recovery of travel retail in Asia Pacific as international travel restarts.

This will be followed by welcome remarks from APTRA President Sunil Tuli and China Duty Free Group Executive Vice President Luke Chang.

In the opening plenary session a keynote address will be given by Singapore’s former Foreign Minister, George Yeo. He will explore issues including intra-regional trade, the role and influence of China, and the importance of travel and tourism to the region.

A panel featuring Luke Chang; Dufry President & CEO Asia Pacific Freda Cheung; SK II CEO Sue Kyung Lee; Qatar Duty Free Vice President Thabet Musleh; and Heinemann Asia Pacific CEO Marvin von Plato will address the complex issues surrounding the preparation for growth as travel in Asia Pacific continues its upward trajectory.

Insights on air travel in Asia Pacific in 2023 will be provided by ACI Asia Pacific Director General Stefano Baronci and OAG Aviation Head of Asia Mayur Patel.

The final session of the day will examine new emerging destinations, shopping preferences and the influence of social media in purchasing decisions.

On these subjects, delegates will hear from Pi Insight Managing Director Stephen Hillam; Emerging Communications Head of Planning Rocky Chi; Mars International Travel Retail Global Sales Director Marcus Hudson; and Japan Tobacco International Global Travel Retail General Manager Claudio Ferreira.
