INTERNATIONAL. Kendu will present the display solutions it devised from the feedback of more than 500 consumers at the Moodie Davitt Virtual Travel Retail Expo.
The retail display specialist, a Silver Partner for the Expo, has recently surveyed over 500 consumers internationally to understand what was important to them. The company will discuss the solutions it has developed with this feedback at Virtual Stand OC-S7.
Kendu International Retail & Strategy Adviser Simon Bentley added: “We offer a wide range of services and solutions for worldwide retailers, bringing to life exciting, engaging and meaningful in-store experiences. The Virtual Travel Retail Expo is a great opportunity for us to showcase our innovative communication solutions and services, in particular Flowbox, our award-winning dynamic lightbox.”

Kendu’s solutions are appropriate to a travel retail sector that has been redefined by the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Bentley. “Consumers want to feel safe but at the same time still want an experience, retailers want to provide this whilst at the same time protecting sales and profits. We believe that our solutions provide this and go beyond the obvious screens and stickers to help enhance the consumer journey and experience,” he said.
He continued: “It’s going to be some time before we get back to anything like what we had before and, for the foreseeable future, ongoing restrictions are going to create uncertainty with the travelling consumer and limit their plans.
“That said, it does provide a great opportunity for retailers to review and adapt their value propositions to make sure they are ready for when the business comes back – which it will.”

Bentley added that the channel can raise its profile with consumers and take the opportunities there still are, despite the pandemic.
“If consumers can’t travel then the industry should travel to the consumer,” he said. “Utilising online and pop-up stores both remind consumers that travel retail still exists and provide tremendous value and service.”
Looking ahead, Bentley concluded: “In short, we are all in this together, our combined knowledge, experience and passion is the thing that is going to get us out of this. Developing new experiences that engage, excite and delight the consumer is key to a sustainable future for all.”
