High spirits – Signal Hill and Crystal Head presented their latest expressions at the event

MALAYSIA. JBrands recently celebrated the launch of Signal Hill Whisky in Malaysia (travel retail and domestic) with a high-profile Halloween-themed party at the W Kuala Lumpur Hotel.

The ultra-premium Canadian whisky brand is described as a “testament to craftsmanship, heritage and the art of distillation”.

Both Signal Hill and Crystal Head Vodka (also a key focus at the event) are exclusively imported and distributed by JBrands for the Malaysian travel retail and domestic markets.

Signal Hill Whisky is made from fine Canadian corn and barley and blended with the pristine waters of Newfoundland.

The corn whisky is double-distilled in a pair of column stills, giving it a light and smooth flavour profile.

The barley whisky is distilled in a pot still to achieve a subtle bready, nutty or malt taste. Multiple layers of flavour are preserved through non-chill filtration, resulting in a fuller mouthfeel and smoother finish.

The whisky is aged in New White Oak Casks, First-Run Bourbon Casks and Canadian Whisky Casks to draw out the characteristics of the grains. Its flavour profile is enhanced by the variable Canadian climate allowing for a slower extraction of flavour from the casks to impart a sweet, mild flavour.

The triple-cask maturation process produces different aspects of the whisky’s character – vanilla and toffee notes, sweet grain and oaky spice respectively – resulting in a flavoursome and well-balanced whisky. ✈
