It’s time to Explore Paradise – take a virtual tour of Changi Airport’s new T3 – 10/10/07

SINGAPORE. The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) has launched a dedicated microsite* for Changi Airport’s new Terminal 3 which opens on 9 January.

The microsite allows web visitors the opportunity to explore Changi’s newest and largest terminal from anywhere in the world. Themed “˜Explore Paradise’, it acts as an interactive one-stop link for visitors to discover T3 through virtual tours, fun downloads, visuals and contests.

To access the site visit www.changiairport.com/t3 or Changi Airport’s main website( www.changiairport.com) or simply click here

CAAS Director-General & Chief Executive Officer Lim Kim Choon (pictured) said: “The T3 microsite was created to give visitors a special insight and preview of T3 before it officially opens on 9 January 2008. It provides an aesthetically pleasing and interactive platform to engage visitors with the T3 experience and showcase the various unique aspects of this new landmark terminal. With T3, we look forward to bringing our airport experience to a new level.”

The microsite allows visitors to experience T3 both visually and experientially and to embark on a virtual tour.

The tour is cleverly customised to the visitor’s preference and level of interest around five parameters – Architecture & Interior, Luxury & Relaxation, Eating, Drinking & Shopping, Business Travel and finally Fun & Leisure.

The CAAS noted: “Through this journey, visitors will gain a deeper understanding of the intricate details and design thoughts that went into the construction and design of the terminal. A downloadable item that will be a sure hit is a desktop wall paper relating to T3’s unique roof architecture.

“The wall paper is a visual of the sky through T3’s roof which consists of skylights that automatically adjust to let in an optimal amount of soft and uniform daylight into the terminal. The colour of the sky will change according to the time of day. Through this, users will be able to experience the simulation of the unique daylight control mechanism on the roof of T3.”

Besides these interactive elements, visitors can access a gallery of visuals and a T3 fact sheet. They are also encouraged to submit their own Changi Airport stories to the microsite. Fortnightly draws will be conducted and the winning entry will stand a chance to win an Ipod Nano (2GB).

All winning entries will be posted on the microsite.
