INTERNATIONAL. Raymondo the bear, mascot of the inflight crew training specialist ISPY, is close to breaking the Guinness World Record for most-travelled toy mascot.
That record stands at 446,500km and he is only 30,179km away from that total – some six months ahead of schedule.
“It is clear that the Raymondo World Tour has captured the imagination of the inflight retail community and the ISPY organisers would like to thank everyone who has looked after Raymondo so far, including Air Transat, American Airlines, Britvic, Dragonair, Emirates, Finnair, Flybe and Thomas Cook,” said Christine Martin, Managing Director of Travel Retail Training, which organises the annual ISPY (Inflight Sales Person of the Year) event.
Updating The Moodie Report on Raymondo’s latest adventures, Martin continued: “Raymondo has just returned from the ITCA conference in Cologne, where he spent time with his tour sponsors Alpha, Britvic, Kraft, Mars and Portfolio Partners. He will continue his schedule with Jet2.com, flydubai, Malaysia Airlines, Thomson Airways, Aer Lingus and tour sponsors over the next six months.
“There is still opportunity for ISPY-registered airlines and sponsors to host the mascot before September, so if you have not already had the opportunity to host Raymondo and would like to help break the record, then get in touch with Mads Bushnell at mads@trtuk.com,” added Martin.
