Iraq Duty Free opens departures and arrivals stores at Baghdad Airport Samara Concourse

IRAQ. Iraq Duty Free has opened its first stores at Baghdad International Airport’s recently upgraded Samara Concourse.

Baghdad Airport comprises one main passenger terminal with three concourses: A, B and C, otherwise known as Nineveh, Babylon and Samara. These names correspond to those of ancient cities in Iraq. The key airline users at Samara include Al Arabiya, Fly Baghdad and all Iranian airlines.

The retailer manages 510sq m of space in departures, which now houses a new design and fixtures, and 92sq m in arrivals (an upgrade will follow soon).

The space in departures features leading international brands across key categories such as beauty, confectionery and wines & spirits, plus accessories including sunglasses.

Iraq Duty Free Procurement Manager Fouad Jabbour said on LinkedIn: “With the continuous expansion of Iraq Duty Free, we are very proud [to open at] the third Terminal in Baghdad International Airport. The departures & arrivals shops in Samara Terminal are fully functional and showing promising results.”
