Interparfums strikes deal for Salvatore Ferragamo fragrance licence

French fragrance expertise meets Italian luxury style: According to Interparfums, the Salvatore Ferragamo licence will help expand its business in the luxury fragrance market
The Salvatore Ferragamo license will be effective from October 2021 and runs for ten years

French fragrance house Interparfums and Italian luxury goods company Salvatore Ferragamo have signed an exclusive licensing agreement for the production and distribution of Salvatore Ferragamo’s branded perfumes.

The licence will be effective from October 2021 and will last for ten years. The deal has a five-year optional extension term, subject to certain conditions.

Interparfums will operate the licence through an Italian company based in Florence. The company also guaranteed that all fragrance production will be done in Italy.

Commenting on the partnership, Interparfums Chairman and CEO Jean Madar said: “We are very proud that Salvatore Ferragamo has chosen Interparfums for this new partnership. Salvatore Ferragamo is in fact one of the most iconic and well-known brands in the luxury segment to which we want to dedicate all our attention for the best future development. The entry of Ferragamo in our portfolio represents a great opportunity to further develop our business in the fashion and luxury segment.”

Interparfums will operate the licence through a wholly Italian-owned company based in Florence and has guaranteed production in Italy

“Interparfums’ great competence and recognised creativity make it the ideal partner to preserve the values and heritage of our brand with Made in Italy products,” commented Salvatore Ferragamo S.p.A President Leonardo Ferragamo. “Its great commercial expertise will also ensure a new boost to the business of our fragrances, which will be distributed through a carefully selected sales network.”

Interparfums is steadily expanding its business through a series of strategic partnerships. As reported, Interparfums and ecommerce company Divabox signed an agreement allowing Interparfums to acquire 25% of Divabox’s online multi-brand platform origines-parfums in July 2020.  In the same year, Interparfums also acquired the exclusive fragrance license for luxury fashion house Moncler.
