Friday was a red-letter day for King Power International Group as the retailer opened new boutiques from luxury brand powerhouses Louis Vuitton and Chanel at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok. The adjacent boutiques are each approximately 380sq m and further bolster King Power’s already glittering luxury offer. As reported, the retailer also recently opened a Cartier boutique (pictured below) at the Bangkok gateway. The timing of the openings appears optimum as Thailand finally opens up after a sustained and painful closure of its borders due to the pandemic.Importantly, the government announced yesterday that RT-PCR tests for foreign visitors will be replaced by antigen tests from May in an effort to attract more tourists and revitalise the beleaguered tourism sector.[The photos of Louis Vuitton and Chanel are courtesy of King Power International Chief Merchandising Officer Antares Cheng] The Cartier boutique features a striking 40-metre façade, decorated with a traditional Thai motif in gold. It boasts two wide entrances which enhance customer flow and is divided into well-defined product zones.
