NEW ZEALAND. Today’s joyous images are courtesy of Auckland Airport. They show the warm Māori welcome given to the first Chinese group tourists from Shanghai to arrive at New Zealand’s premier gateway since early 2020.

As reported, New Zealand was named among the first 20 travel destinations (since extended to 60) approved under China’s outbound group tours pilot scheme.

According to Auckland Airport, China Eastern Airlines will restore daily flights between Auckland Airport and Shanghai Pudong International Airport from 27 March. ✈
