We are and will be dust.
Not air, not fire, nor water
but
earth,
only earth
we will be
and maybe also
some yellow flowers.
– Ode to Some Yellow Flowers, Pablo Neruda
NEW ZEALAND. Auckland Airport is stepping into the new season with a burst of colour and creativity. The airport has collaborated with Cancer Society Auckland and Cancer Society New Zealand to unveil a vibrant display celebrating Daffodil Day today (25 August).
Eye-catching mannequins bedecked in yellow daffodil-inspired dresses are positioned within the international terminal, capturing passengers’ attention and spreading awareness for a vital cause.
The Cancer Society’s switch to eco-friendly paper daffodils prompted this fashion innovation. The dresses are not just a feast for the eyes, but also a testament to sustainability.
The outfits were designed and assembled by the students of Whitecliffe College, Auckland. Primarily crafted from old plastic daffodils, these ensembles showcase the power of repurposing materials. ✈
