CHINA. In an early celebration of its first anniversary later this month, Hainan Tourism Duty Free Shopping Complex (HTDF) has added several heavyweight brands such as Bvlgari, Fred and Jimmy Choo to its offer in Sanya, bringing consumers a more diverse and rewarding shopping experience.
Located in the heart of Sanya city, HTDF was built by Hainan Tourism Investment Duty Free Co, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hainan Tourism Investment & Development Co. Since its official opening on 30 December 2020, it has been positioned as a one-stop high-end tourism retail complex integrating shopping, food and entertainment.
HTDF devotes itself to creating a reputation of ‘five enjoys’ – to make customers “enjoy the time, enjoy the shopping, enjoy the products, enjoy the price, and enjoy the enterprise”

HTDF now boasts a strong roll-call of world-renowned brands including Hublot, TAG Heuer, Gucci Beauty, Sensai, Lancôme, La Mer and many others.
Recent new boutique additions include Dior, FitChan, MLB, Jimmy Choo and other leading international brands, providing tourists and Hainan citizens with more choices for winter shopping.
HTDF currently offers over 700 brands covering 45 offshore duty free categories, including watches, jewellery, suitcases & bags, perfume, cosmetics, electronic products, wines & spirits and others.
The 95,000sq m-plus floor space integrates duty free and duty paid business, dining, and a wide variety of other entertainment attractions. To establish itself at “the top of the shopping bucket list” for visitors, HTDF said that it devotes itself to creating a reputation of ‘five enjoys’ – to make customers “enjoy the time, enjoy the shopping, enjoy the products, enjoy the price, and enjoy the enterprise”.
Nearly 170 brands, including Tasaki, Marni, Fred, Etro, Hublot, Schaffrath, Gucci Beauty, Burberry Beauty, Christian Louboutin and Sensai, are entering or have entered the offshore duty free market either for the first time or exclusively through HTDF.
The ‘Trending Space’ on the fifth floor features a wide range of high-fashion brand names such as Hummel, We11done, Rick Owens, MarkM, GCDS, and 5252byO!Oi, all designed to meet the demands of young customers. Boasting a wealth of products, warm service, and convenient location, visitors cordially praise the shopping complex as “a good duty free shop that can be reached by bicycle”, HTDF said.

Differentiation the key
HTDF said that its future business philosophy will be based on differentiation. The company plans to continue introducing more high-end cosmetics, and accessible luxury and fashion brands, while creating an alluring blend of retail, catering and entertainment.
The retailer said that it will embrace a variety of approaches to enhance the consumer experience. These include multiple retail formats, brand differentiation, enhanced operational ability and an immersive shopping experience, more unique brand activities and a multi-dimensional focus on meeting consumers’ shopping needs.
HTDF said it is deeply committed to the development of the Hainan Free Trade Port and to creating a “unique and luxurious” shopping experience for consumers.
