Hodgkinson knighted

UK. Mike Hodgkinson, ex BAA chief executive and previously a member of the Airports Council International Governing Board and the ACI Europe Board was knighted by the Queen of England in her Birthday Honours List announced over the weekend.

Sir Michael joined BAA as group airports director in January 1992 and was appointed chief executive in 1999, having served on the Board for over eleven years. He successfully carried out the strategy of focusing on BAA’s core airports business, overseeing the sale of World Duty Free Americas in 2001, and winning permission to grow the airports with the support of regulators and stakeholders.
