HMSHost Malaysia opens Ocean Bar amid F&B upgrade at Langkawi Airport

MALAYSIA. HMSHost International has launched Ocean Bar restaurant at Langkawi International, the first of five new food and beverage concessions to be opened at the airport.

The new restaurant has opened at the regional airport, which is undergoing expansion and redevelopment.

Ocean Bar serves Asian and western cuisine including the ‘Ocean Bar surf platter’, salmon brioche and chicken curry. The decor is influenced by Langkawi island’s views of the Andaman Ocean, featuring surfboards on the walls and “modern industrial accents”.

The menu features a range of western and Asian dishes including skewered meat and seaside-influenced bites

HMSHost Malaysia General Manager Iwan Kruiswijk said: “We are thrilled [by] our partnership with Malaysia Airports [in being able] to offer locally inspired and internationally recognised brands.”

Customers are already visiting Ocean Bar, the first of a series of restaurants HMSHost is opening at the airport.

Other restaurants to open in the terminal include Burger King, Ya Kun Kaya Toast and Costa Coffee.

Langkawi International is being refurbished and terminal space expanded from 15,000sq m to 23,000sq m.

The locally inspired decor at Ocean Bar features surfboards and an industrial aesthetic.
