HMSHost and SSP/TFS joint venture awarded F&B concessions at Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru

INDIA. Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) has announced the awarding of two master concession contracts for food & beverage outlets in the new Terminal 2 at Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru. The news was broken during a FAB conference session at the Virtual Travel Retail Expo today, when it was also revealed that the duty free tender for the terminal will be issued this month.

How the new Terminal 2 at Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru will look. It will eventually contain more than 50 F&B concepts.

The airport company has onboarded HMSHost International and a partnership between SSP and Travel Food Services (TFS) as master concessionaires for the T2 project. Each will operate nine concepts in the Terminal 2 space, which will eventually become home to more than 50 F&B concepts.

SSP owns 49% of TFS, a leading Indian player in the travel food market. TFS operates approximately 300 food & beverage outlets in India, including at seven major airports in both domestic and international terminals.

Confirming the upcoming release of duty free tender documents, Bangalore International Airport Limited Assistant Vice President Commercial Development Pravat Paikray said: “This month we’ll be releasing our duty free tender for Terminal 2 and this will be a 50/50 joint venture [between airport and operator -Ed].”
