Heinemann Italia captures further six-year contract term at Bologna Airport

ITALY. Heinemann Italia has won the tender for two duty free and Travel Value shops at Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport, and will renew its concession there for a further six years, from 1 January 2022.

The retailer has operated in Italy since 2011 and extends its presence at Bologna, one of its three airport locations in the country

Heinemann Italia Managing Director Fulvio Fassone said: “We are very proud to partner with Bologna Airport to extend our business here until 2027. This is a great confirmation of our entrepreneurial commitment at the airport and an excellent basis for further turnover growth and an important building block in the current recovery phase. We will expand our competence in the coming years even further to present a comprehensive and varied travel retail assortment to passengers. Our focus continues on the tailor-made mix between global brands and a strong regional approach with high-quality, local products.”

With the new concession the company will gain another 60sq m in the Schengen area, and will operate total retail space of around 985sq m at the airport. Heinemann has had a presence in Italy since 2011 and operates duty free & Travel Value Shops at airports in Bologna, Bari and Turin.
