Haribo introduces destination packs featuring top European landmarks

Haribo is targeting souvenir shoppers with a new range of pouches containing fruit jelly shapes of the national landmarks of France, Spain, Germany and the UK.

The Haribo Destination Collection of four 700g resealable packs will be featured at the upcoming TFWA World Exhibition (Bay Village, 11B).

Vive la France features the country’s top destinations in and on the pack

The Acueducto de Segovia, Alhambra de Granada, Minarete de Giralda, Murallas de Ávila, Puerta de Alcalá and the Sagrada Familia feature in fruit jelly form in the Viva Espana pouch, while the Happy UK pack presents Belfast City Hall, Big Ben, Cardiff Castle, Edinburgh Castle, Stonehenge and Tower Bridge.

Haribo Head of Marketing Global Travel Retail Elisa Fontana said: “Destination products are a growing element of travel retail sales as shoppers seek an unusual way of commemorating their trip. The chocolate brands have latched onto this and we spotted a gap in the market for high-quality sugar confectionery.

“Following successful trials of Haribo’s Happy Germany in bag format, we tasked our team of designers with the creation of jelly representations of national landmarks in other European countries.”

Fontana added that if the pouches prove a success, Haribo will explore manufacturing fruit jellies for further destinations.
