Hamad International named as Best Airport in the Middle East in 2020 Skytrax Awards

QATAR. Hamad International Airport has been ranked as the world’s third best airport and won two major regional awards in the Skytrax World Airport Awards 2020.

The Qatari hub won accolades for Best Airport in the Middle East and Best Staff Service in the Middle East in the awards, which are organised by UK airline and airport consultancy Skytrax. As reported, Changi Airport was named Best Airport in the rankings, which are based on feedback from travellers across 550 major airports.

Commenting on Hamad International’s rise from last year’s fourth place in the Skytrax world’s best airports rankings, Chief Operating Officer Engr. Badr Mohammed Al Meer said: “Every year that we move up the ranks is particularly rewarding as this honour comes directly from our passengers who have shared their experiences travelling through our airport through Skytrax surveys.”

Reflecting on the current COVID-19 crisis, he added: “We are committed to our primary role of helping travellers reach their home countries safely. The world faces unprecedented challenges due to the spread of coronavirus, and we are sure that the crisis will be overcome only through comprehensive cooperation between all concerned parties and civil society in preserving the safety and security of all.”
