USA. Airport retail developer Fraport Tennessee has today launched a competitive request for proposal (RFP) process for eight leasing opportunities at Nashville International Airport with the Concourse D Extension planned commercial space.
Deadline for proposals are on 12 September (5pm CT).
The locations are set to cover 15,642sq ft of space for F&B and retail concessions in the soon-to-be expanded Concourse.
The opportunities are part of the airport’s New Horizon expansion phase to accommodate growth for up to 35 million passengers and continue to build a world-class airport, the company noted.
Passenger traffic at the airport once again surged to an all-time high for the fiscal year ended in June 2023 with 21.9 million passengers. More non-stop routes to more destinations were also added.
The historic traffic increase has prompted the need to further expand the airport to meet travel demand amid the region’s continued popularity as a destination.

Fraport Tennessee Vice President Matt Jennings said: “We congratulate the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority on its tremendous growth and banner year. We opened 25 more new shops and restaurants over the past 18 months and are thrilled to embark on this next phase of development.
“Visitors will have more retail and dining choices with Tennessee flair and much more to discover at BNA.”

The Concourse D extension design work is now underway. The additional terminal area will add five new gates to the current six, eight concessions locations and similar finishes and designs with high ceilings and expansive, inviting node areas for travellers.
The expansion will also feature a new open-air veranda at the end of the concourse. The three food and drink locations, three retail/service locations and two hybrid locations will be available for handover and construction start in February 2025.
Fraport Tennessee is inviting qualified and interested parties to a workshop for information on RFP goals, details, proposal submission requirements and timelines.
New operators are encouraged to attend an in-person or virtual workshop this month. To register or for more information, please email nashvillerfp@fraport-usa.com. ✈
