Four new casualfood F&B concepts set to open in Berlin Brandenberg Airport T2

GERMANY. Casualfood has revealed details of four food & beverage concepts which it will open in the new Terminal 2 food court at Berlin Brandenburg Airport within the next few weeks. They are Goodman & Filippo (Italian-American deli); Hermann’s (snack bar); Beans & Barley (beer and coffee specialities); and the Berlin Pub.

The Goodman & Filippo menu includes the quinoa avocado bowl, the Goodman’s cheeseburger, a spicy chicken teriyaki burger, steaks, pizza and pasta. Beverages available include fresh fruit and vegetable smoothies and wines.

A wide variety of takeaway food & beverage options are available from the soon to open Goodman & Filippo deli

Hermann’s combines ‘cult retro’ butcher’s design elements with the contemporary style of a modern snack bar chain. The menu features sausage varieties from the local area, chips, a range of sauces, home-made salads, rolls, pretzels and draught beer.

Beverage specialist Beans & Barley offers special craft beers and high-quality coffee specialities. In addition to Berliner Pilsner and Berliner Kindl, guests can enjoy regional beers made by Berliner Berg or Hop House. A highlight of the coffee menu is the nitro cold brew, made in Berlin.

The Berlin Pub – billed by casualfood as an “authentic Berlin bar” – offers views of the runway and F&B options including Berlin beer and snacks such as pretzels, sandwiches and curried sausage.

Already operated by casualfood in the just-opened T2 are several mobile F&B concepts named Deli Berlin, offering passengers fast refreshments by the gates.

The savoury options from Deli Berlin include pretzels, filled baguettes and bagels, hot dogs and schnitzel rolls. In addition, there are sweet treats including chocolate croissants, doughnuts, muffins, confectionery and a wide range of beverages to choose from.

T2 was completed at the end of September 2020 before the opening of Berlin’s new airport. It has not been used until now due to the low number of passengers during the COVID-19 pandemic period.

Casualfood Co-Managing Director Stefan Weber said: “We are delighted that, following the opening of the new BER airport, Terminal 2 is now also going into operation and that we will be able to launch further food service concepts. It’s another step on the path back to normality.”
