Fossil Group extends Emporio Armani Connected line with ‘next-generation’ smartwatch

Fossil Group has introduced a new generation of touchscreen smartwatches to extend the Emporio Armani Connected ‘wearables’ range.

The Connected line, featuring a hybrid watch which can track activity, control music and take a ‘selfie’, was launched last year.

New ‘wearables’: Smartwatches extend the Emporio Armani Connected range.

The new smartwatches are powered by Wear OS by Google and the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 SoC and are compatible with both iPhone and Android phones. Features include heart rate tracking, GPS, near-field communication (NFC) and swim-proof technology. Wearers can pay for purchases via Google Pay in selected countries and Alipay in China. The watches also offer an ‘assist-on-the-wrist’ feature which is available through the voice recognition specialist Mobvoi in China and Google Assist in selected countries.

Emporio Armani said the smartwatches combine styling and the latest wearable technology with a design which honours the brand’s tradition of precision watchmaking.

Canadian singer/songwriter Shawn Mendes is the face of the Emporio Armani watch collection.

The smartwatch introduces new digital dial designs, has a stainless steel case and a 1.19in AMOLED display. Mono-link and embossed leather straps are available.

The new smartwatches are available for pre-sale on armani.com and will be available in early September at Armani stores and selected retailers worldwide.

The smartwatches are highlighted in Emporio Armani’s Fall/Winter 2018 campaign which features Canadian singer/songwriter Shawn Mendes, who is the face of the entire Emporio Armani watch collection.
