CHINA. Swedish beauty tech and wellness brands Foreo and FAQ have revealed their latest gondolas with the opening of Phase II of the Haikou Global Premium Duty Free (GDF) Plaza at the Mova Mall in Haikou. As reported, Hainan Development Holdings celebrated the soft opening of the latest phase of the project on 30 August.



Livestreaming events on 30 and 31 August through GDF’s WeChat Mini Program and the Yi Zhi Bo app featured both brands, with customers able to purchase through the Mini Program.
Ranges featured in the livestream included facial cleansing massager Luna 3, masking device UFO 2, smart microcurrent facial firming device Bear and Mikro electric toothbrush ISSA. FAQ 101 and FAQ 102 anti-aging devices from the FAQ Range100 were also highlighted.
Foreo Global Travel Retail Director Gary Leong said: “We are beyond thrilled to announce the launch of our new counters at Phase Two of the GDF Plaza. It will no doubt become a prime area for duty free shopping in Hainan Island, and provide a higher-quality shopping experience with its expanded space.
“The livestream to promote the opening of the new store is also a fantastic way for both brands to promote their hero products, and is in line with our aim to expand further on digital platforms this year. Our recent collaboration with the Hainan Expo saw both Foreo and FAQ featured at the GDF Plaza exhibiting stand, organised in partnership with Dufry and Hainan Development Holdings.
“Our travel retail team was on the ground to lend their full support, and the response could not have been more overwhelming. We are very much looking forward to further launches with GDF in the future for even more dynamic results.”

GDF Plaza houses over 200 international brands across multiple categories. Phase three of the project will see more leading luxury names added in 2022.
