Foreo advances China expansion plans with opening at new CNSC Chongqing store

Foreo doubles down on China: The new space, which features a personalised gondola and full back wall, is Foreo’s 12th opening with CNSC

CHINA. Swedish beauty tech group Foreo has unveiled its latest branded zone at CNSC’s recently-opened post-arrivals duty free store in Chongqing. Its presence, which features a personalised gondola and full back wall, marks the 12th Foreo opening with CNSC and expands its Chinese travel retail footprint.

Open for business: The store enjoys a prime central business district location in Changjiahui Landmark Riverside Park, Chongqing’s first cultural tourism complex

As reported, almost 160 brands are offered at CNSC’s new Chongqing store across a wide array of categories, including cosmetics, fragrances, fashion & accessories, handbags, leathergoods, food and confectionery, and other items. The official inauguration ceremony was held on 19 March, following a soft opening.

The new-look post-arrivals store enjoys a prime central business district location in Changjiahui Landmark Riverside Park, Chongqing’s first cultural tourism complex, which was opened in 2016. The lifestyle centre, sited between the Yangtze and Jialing rivers, serves as an integrated destination for leisure, entertainment, travel, and shopping.

Foreo is planning to open a total of 29 units in China this year. This includes 13 Foreo counters and 16 counters for its FAQ line.

“Foreo celebrates together with CNSC on their official inauguration of its new-look store in Chongqing. We are extremely excited to open a new placement with CNSC which features a personalised gondola and full back wall at the new Chongqing duty free store,” commented Foreo Global Travel Retail Director Gary Leong.

“With the pandemic throwing us into uncharted territory, we have managed to rise above the occasion with this new successful launch, and we hope there are many more to come. Our partnership with CNSC has been extremely fruitful, and a 12th counter is proof of our firm commitment to our customers and our partners alike.”

Leong says that Foreo “rose to the occasion” amid the pandemic crisis and successfully opened a number of new counters in key travel retail hotspots in China

The new CNSC launches underscore Foreo’s efforts to build its China network. In a recent interview with Martin Moodie, Leong said that Foreo will see 13 new offline counters open this year, while its FAQ line will add 16 new locations.

Foreo Global Travel Retail has sold 5.8 million products in the last five years, largely thanks to the brand’s popularity in China.
