FetchyFox names Joe Waller as Chief Revenue Officer

AI technology drives performance

FetchyFox’s AI-driven Digital Marketplace is designed to enhance the traveller experience and give airport operators an unprecedented 360 degree view of post-COVID passenger behaviour.

The AI technology enables data-driven decisions, identifies operational pressure points, and spots emerging behaviours.

The company aims to provide airport operators the information needed to create an effective commercial strategy that maximises traveller satisfaction, grows revenues.

It also helps aid efficient operations – for airports and their usiness partners (an increasingly critical issue given the current widespread labour shortage).

US. Airport digital infrastructure and intelligence platform FetchyFox has named much-respected food & beverage and retail veteran Joe Waller as Chief Revenue Officer.

‍Waller was formerly Chief Executive Officer at AMI Inflight & AMI Wines, where he led a global team with operations in North America, Europe and the Middle East that sold products to over 40 airlines.

When the coronavirus pandemic shut down travel, he pivoted the company and created a new revenue stream by selling food and services to state governments and charitable organisations fighting hunger.

Prior to joining AMI, Waller was President and Chief Executive Officer of Pacific Gateway Concessions. There he led the company through an inventive rebranding and created a marketing campaign that resulted in exponential growth and ultimately the successful sale to HMSHost-owned Stellar Partners.

Earlier, Waller served as the Senior Vice President at shopping centre giant Westfield where he led operations that generated retail and restaurant sales of over US$800 million annually across an eight-airport portfolio.

Before that, as HMSHost Vice President of Business Development from 2005 to April 2014, Waller led the team that developed B4 You Board, one of the first mobile apps for the ordering and delivery of food. In 2012 the National Restaurant Association named B4 You Board one of the three most significant technological innovations in the restaurant industry and USA Today named it one of the 5 ‘Must have’ apps for travellers.

“Joe Waller’s vision for the future travel experience is perfectly aligned with FetchyFox’s and we are eager to evolve the digital infrastructure for airports and public spaces together,” said FetchyFox Co-Founder & CEO Christina Apatow.

“It is an honour to join the FetchyFox team. Their passion for making travel better is matched by their amazing intellect and innovative drive,” said Joe Waller.

FetchyFox Co-Founder & CEO Christina Apatow describes herself as obsessed with building the future and solving complex problems. She regularly speaks on AI, digital transformation, customer experience, and human-centered design. Of the company’s latest appointment, she says, “Joe Waller’s vision for the future travel experience is perfectly aligned with FetchyFox’s and we are eager to evolve the digital infrastructure for airports and public spaces together.”
