Fast lane food – Fraport tests Yoordi F&B ordering service at Frankfurt Airport

GERMANY. Fraport has introduced an innovative Yoordi food ordering service – aimed at enhancing passenger experience – at Frankfurt Airport.

According to the airport operator, Yoordi is tailor-made for travellers. It operates from a scanned QR code so passengers and guests at the airport can use their smartphones to order and pay for food and drinks from restaurants without having to download an app or register.

Orders can be picked up from fast lanes in participating restaurants.

According to Fraport, the prerequisites for easy, unproblematic use are a stable internet connection, ordering pages in multiple languages, and a range of payment modes.

The airport operator pointed out that dining facilities are available in restaurants inside the Frankfurt Airport terminals. Food can be contactlessly ordered and served at tables.

Fraport Key Account Managing for Food & Beverages Daniel Gemander said: “This pilot project is letting us quickly and flexibly work with our restaurants to see how Yoordi can improve the guest experience.”

Various concessionaires are trying out the solution in Terminal 1 Pier A. During the pilot phase, the application can be tweaked to better meet the needs and expectations of customers and restaurants, with the possibility of adding more features.

Yoordi – Scan, Order, Pay

Yoordi has been developed by a Swiss start-up that specialises in digitalising the food and hospitality industries.

Already in use in five countries, Yoordi launched as a sit-down ordering service but now includes appropriate solutions for efficient digital handling of orders and payments by a wide range of restaurants.

The service can be extended to include other sales channels such as takeaway and delivery shops and supports the digitalisation of events.
