FAB + Hospitality – The Moodie Davitt Report extends successful airport food & beverage event to wider hospitality sector

INTERNATIONAL. The Moodie Davitt Report is delighted to announce the return in physical form of its long-established Airport Food & Beverage (FAB) Conference & Awards after a four-year COVID-driven absence but with an extended remit to include wider airport hospitality services.

The newly named Airport FAB + Hospitality Conference & Awards will embrace all airport food & beverage, lounge, hotel and other F&B related hospitality services. The event, held virtually this year, will return to its traditional late June timing. The Moodie Davitt Report is currently in discussions with prospective host airports and the chosen venue will be announced in due course.

The last in-person FAB was held at Dallas Forth Worth International Airport in 2019 – the first time the event, founded in 2011, had been held in the USA. The FAB Awards, the only global recognition of excellence in airport food & beverage, attracted a record 302 entries.

The 2023 event will see not only the conference content extended to the wider airport hospitality sector but also the FAB Awards. The awards will also incorporate the hugely popular FAB Superstars Awards held virtually over the past two years to celebrate the critical role of staff in our industry.

The Moodie Davitt Report Founder & Chairman Martin Moodie said, “This is an exciting and logical step forward for FAB 11 years on from its creation. The lessons of the pandemic have placed an unprecedented emphasis on the quality of the airport experience. Food & beverage and wider hospitality services, including hotels and lounges, play a critical role in delivering a 360° end-to-end airport experience.

“We’re also delighted to bring FAB back in its extended form at a time of unprecedented industry focus on food & beverage,” Moodie continued. “With Dufry set to join forces with Autogrill – giant combines with giant – and Lagardère Travel Retail having reeled off a string of F&B acquisitions in recent years, including Paradies, HWH Hospitality Investments and the just announced agreement with Marché, F&B’s star is very much in the airport ascendency.

Once again in 2023, FAB Women – a highlight of the 2019 event – will be featured

“As with The Trinity Forum – recently returned and set to celebrate its 20th anniversary next year – we will provide a dynamic, challenging and progressive conference agenda. That will be complemented by the only global recognition of excellence across the whole airport food & beverage and hospitality sectors. We can promise a top-class – in fact, FABulous – event.”
