SINGAPORE. Emirates Leisure Retail (ELR) has made its debut at Changi Airport by opening The Kitchen by Wolfgang Puck at Terminal 3.

Following ELR’s successful bid for three concessions at Changi, The Kitchen by Wolfgang Puck is the first outlet to open. The spacious, premium casual-dining eatery provides guests the option of dining from the all-day menu or relaxing with a drink at the bar.

Travellers can enjoy the acclaimed celebrity chef’s renowned interpretation of global comfort fare using fresh, quality, locally-sourced ingredients. The restaurant includes a raised kitchen platform and a feature pizza oven, while the open plan design allows guests a perfect view of the culinary team at work.

ELR CEO Andrew Day commented: “We are thrilled to have welcomed guests to our first outlet at Changi Airport in partnership with Changi Airport Group and delighted to continue our excellent relationship with Michelin Star Chef Wolfgang Puck.

“Sharing the same passion to continually raise the bar in airport dining, The Kitchen by Wolfgang Puck offers an exceptional premium casual dining experience.”

Day said that customers can enjoy Puck’s renowned signature dishes alongside items created especially for Changi, such as Hot & Sour Soup with chicken and mushroom and Korean Beef Shortribs with spicy kimchi, “dishes that also offer excellent value for the airport’s international passengers”.

About Wolfgang Puck

For over four decades Wolfgang Puck has dedicated his life to the culinary world. He began cooking as a child, learning from his mother who was a chef in the Austrian town where he was born and raised.

Having started his formal training at 14, he later worked in some of France’s greatest restaurants, including Maxim’s in Paris, the Hotel de Paris in Monaco, and the Michelin 3-starred L’Oustau de Baumanière in Provence. At the age of 24, Wolfgang took the advice of a friend and left Europe for the USA.

In 1975, he moved to Los Angeles and quickly garnered the attention of the Hollywood elite as chef of Ma Maison in West Hollywood. His dynamic personality and culinary brilliance that bridged tradition and invention made Ma Maison a magnet for the rich and famous, with Puck as the star attraction. He had an innate understanding of the potential for California cuisine, and was pivotal in its rise to national attention during the late 1970s.

Since then he has opened numerous outstanding restaurants and is widely credited with having changed the way Americans cook and eat by combining classic French techniques with California and Asian influences as well as the freshest and finest ingredients.

His syndicated newspaper column, ‘Wolfgang Puck’s Kitchen’ appears in 30 newspapers in the USA and Canada, reaching more than 5.3 million people each week. He is also known to millions of television viewers who see him regularly on Home Shopping Network.

Wolfgang Puck added, “I’m excited to unveil my new restaurant in Changi Airport’s T3 to the many visitors travelling through Singapore. With two other restaurants in Singapore already, my chefs are familiar with the best in local ingredients and produce, which we will be using whenever possible on our menus to offer guests fresh and delicious dishes while on the go.”

The outlet boasts a selection of dishes that are unique to Changi Airport, such as the Spicy Chicken Potstickers, Asian BBQ Chicken Pizza, Steamed Scottish Salmon Hong Kong Style, and the Australian Ribeye with Kalbi Glaze. The menu also features one of Wolfgang Puck’s signature dishes, the Chicken Salad, with napa cabbage, wontons, cashews and a ginger-sesame vinaigrette. Breakfast options include the Eggs & Hash Bowl with sausage and Smoked Salmon Bagel.
