US. Hudson sought to capture the character of New York with its stores in LaGuardia Airport Terminal B’s new Arrivals & Departures Hall*, according to CEO Roger Fordyce.
The 850,000sq ft complex, revealed this week by LaGuardia Gateway Partners, houses 21 shops and restaurants.
Tomorrow (13 June), Hudson is opening two new convenience concepts – NYC Aglow and Mad Ave Market – as part of a seven-year contract.
Fordyce said: “We have a responsibility to embrace the local history and flavour of a city in our store designs and offerings, and so we’re honoured to introduce concepts to LaGuardia that represent the storied history of the airport, the city, and Hudson alike.”
Inspired by the New York City skyline, NYC Aglow offers a sleek and modern shopping experience, Hudson said. Meanwhile Mad Ave Market honours the golden age of advertising on Madison Avenue with art deco designs.
Both stores offer local and international products, as well as a range of gifts and snacks.
The new shops, operated under the HG LGA Retailers joint venture between Hudson and its partners Branded Works, Byrd Retail Group and Kelle Communications Group, increase Hudson’s Terminal B footprint to nine stores.
LaGuardia Gateway Partners Chief Executive Officer Stewart Steeves commented: “New York City is considered to be one of the world’s greatest destinations for shopping, and the new Terminal B is no exception to that. Hudson provides all of the classic travel essentials that every New Yorker and visitor needs, and we’re excited to partner with them in the new terminal.”
