USA. Edmonton International Airport is now allowing passengers to use the ridesharing transport service TappCar.
The airport has licensed TappCar vehicles to drop off passengers anywhere on airport property, including the departures level of the main terminal.
Passengers who subscribe to the TappCar service are now able to use their smartphone app or a telephone dispatch system to book the transport.
Edmonton becomes the first Canadian airport to allow the ridesharing service.
“Our goal is to offer travellers more choices so they can select the ground transportation that best suits their needs,” said Edmonton International Airport Director of Ground Transportation Brett Bain.
“This agreement with TappCar gives our passengers a new transportation choice so that along with public transportation, private rides, taxis, limousines, rental cars and more, we have a full suite of options available to passengers.”
