SWITZERLAND. Dufry today opened duty paid concept Anecdote in the newly opened lifestyle and business complex The Circle at Zürich Airport. The 600sq m-plus shop offers a range of global brands and local labels across multiple categories.
As reported, the complex houses shops and restaurants, headquarters for international companies, two hotels, a congress centre (yet to open) and premises for medical services for a “complete urban centre” with global connections via the airport.

Dufry Chief Executive Officer Central & North Europe, Russia & Africa Isabel Zarza said: “We offer our customers a great brand experience across more than 600sq m with professional advice for all our core categories – from fashion & accessories, to perfumes, cosmetics and skin care products for her and him; to wines and spirits, on to food and confectionery as well as tobacco, jewellery, watches, sunglasses and travel bags.
“Anecdote is not just for travellers – we also want to attract local customers from the Greater Zürich Area, which is one of Europe’s economically strongest areas with around 3.8 million inhabitants.”
Zürich Airport Chief Commercial Officer Stefan Gross said: “We are very excited to open The Circle today. Zürich Airport takes a big step forward in transforming itself into a destination in itself by embracing new concepts ranging from a rooftop restaurant to a highly competent health centre. Anecdote will make Dufry’s offer available to a broader audience – an idea that was born in 2016 and finally comes to life.”
