Dubai Duty Free to release first bottles from Lambay Whiskey exclusive cask programme

Lambay Irish Whiskey has launched an innovative new programme that offers a greater level of personalisation for retailers and their buyers.

For the Lambay Whiskey Single Malt Single Cask, retailers that make an enquiry will be sent samples from three different barrels with taste profiles that vary depending on their location within the maturation warehouse.

The buyer then selects their chosen cask and the maturation process ceases. The full cask is bottled with accompanying personalised labels for the retailer and sent to them.

Dubai Duty Free has ordered the first of these 20 available casks. The bottles featuring the Dubai Duty Free logo will be available for US$193 from March.

The single malt combines the arts of whiskey making, Cognac blending and maturation. The whiskey is triple distilled, bourbon cask matured and finished in Cognac casks hand selected by Camus Cellar Master Patrick Léger.

The Cognac casks are carried across the sea from the cellars of Maison Camus in France to the bonded warehouse on Lambay Island. This maturation warehouse on Lambay’s western coast offers ideal conditions for maritime maturation as sea spray, iodine and the island’s natural botanicals infuse the wood.

Collector’s item: Each of the bottles will be individually numbered

All of the casks will yield approximately 350 bottles (with a variation of +/-10%) and have an ABV of 45-59%. Each bottle is recorded with a batch number and the signature of Lambay’s Master Blender Patrick Léger.
