German cosmetics company Artdeco has teamed up with Dita Von Teese to present the Burlesque performer’s first makeup collection, “˜Dita Von Teese Classics’.
In addition, Artdeco has drawn inspiration from the world of haute couture to produce a new makeup collection called Art Couture.

DITA VON TEESE CLASSICS
The “˜Dita Von Teese Classics’ collection aims to help women recreate the beauty icon’s signature Old Hollywood look – porcelain skin, sensual red lips and arched black eyeliner. The products are notable for their retro cameo design, which is an homage to vintage jewellery.
For a porcelain complexion the range offers the Compact Powder “˜Face Fatal’ No. 1, a micro fine compact powder that creates a transparent, gently matt finish. Oil-absorbing ingredients eliminate shiny skin, while light-reflecting pigments create a smooth finish. The finely powdered texture blends in with the skin with the help of the accompanying puff or brush.
The four limited Blushers come in Von Teese’s favourite spring colours, including a subtle rose “˜Starlet’ No. 31, apricot shades such as “˜Ingenue’ No. 09, as well as various strong shades of rose such as “˜Ivresse’ No. 20 and “˜Paramour’ No. 22.
The retractable Eye Styler in deep black “˜Minuit’ No. 51 traces the inner and outer contours of the eye simply and precisely. This liner has an innovative, ergonomic design: the rubberized grip and the narrow shape of the pencil make it easy to apply the intensively coloured texture. The limited-edition contour pencil with built-in sharpener is ideal for sensitive eyes.
Von Teese’s signature black eyelid line is easy to recreate with the “˜Dita’ Gel Eyeliner “˜Nocturnelle’ No. 1, a gel-based waterproof black eyeliner. It is said to accentuate the eyes with just one application, with carbon black pigments creating deep black colour results. This limited-edition eyeliner has a long-lasting and quick-drying formula and is free of mineral oil, paraffin and parabens.
The Art Couture Eyeliner Brush is made of particularly fine hair, and is used for precise application of the Gel Eyeliner. A natural look is achieved when the eyeliner is applied with the tip of the brush. Placing the brush flat against the skin creates a broader line.
Von Teese’s smoky eyes can be created with Eye Shadows Matt in “˜Veuve Noir’ No. 503., combined with “˜Von Fleece’ No. 512. A more subtle look can be achieved with shades of brown, “˜Brunesque’ No. 520, “˜Sepia’ No. 530, “˜Mink’ No. 524, and light “˜Petticoat’ No. 554.
The limited Glamour Eye Shadows with tiny pearl pigments add further highlights. “˜Night Porter’ No. 300 and “˜Opulence’ No. 369 accentuate the eyes, while “˜Wisp’ No. 370, “˜Spotlight’ No. 371, “˜Gilded Lily’ No. 374, and “˜Plush’ No. 375 add just a touch of colour.
The eyeshadows can be stored in the magnetic Beauty Box Square in “˜Dita’s Design’.
The Art Couture Lash Volumizer “˜Raven’ No. 01 in jet black is a perfume-free mascara combining volume, extension, and separation of the lashes in one. Natural wax, extracted from rice bran, nourishes the lashes and makes this limited-edition mascara suitable for sensitive eyes.
The Artificial Lashes made of real hand-tufted hair make eyelashes look even thicker and longer. The “˜diva’ look is achieved with No. 39, which includes black rhinestones. They are easy to attach, and can be reused with the transparent eyelash adhesive.

The Art Couture Lipstick Velvet comes in shades designed to match Von Teese’s style. Colours include a strong orange such as “˜Bon Bon’ No. 607 and intense pinks, “˜Follies Pink’ No. 637 and “˜Demoiselle’ No. 645. For more expressive makeup results, colours such as “˜Muse Red’ No. 615, “˜Parlez-Vous’ No. 620, and “˜Maitresse’ No. 628 offer various shades of red. This silicone-free lipstick is notable for being long-lasting with full coverage and an intensive luminance, Artdeco said. Beeswax, candelilla wax, and carnauba wax nourish the lips and add a touch of fragrance.
Complementing the lipsticks is the waterproof Lip Liner in various shades of red: “˜Vermillion’ No. 06, “˜Dame’ No. 10, and “˜Fatal’ No. 15. The subtle, solid and wax-based texture helps women to achieve accurate lip contours.
The Lip Lacquer “˜Chinois’ No. 28 is suitable for adding glossy accents to matt lip colours. The creamy texture is applied easily and evenly with the new, extra short brush made of real hair.
A special feature of Von Teese’s nails is the half-moon effect, which can be achieved using Nail Lacquer “˜Moonlight’ No. 180 in pearl white. The rest of the nail is coated with red-pink nuances in “˜Dragon Lady Red’ No. 10, “˜Demoiselle Pink’ No. 19 or “˜Femme Fatal’ No. 25. The nail lacquer contains patented ceramic particles that increase its durability and create a long-lasting shine. Polyester resin shortens the drying time and reduces discoloration. The high-quality nylon fibres of the brush are fine-tuned to the formulation for a particularly even application of colour, Artdeco said.
The new products will be available as of mid-June 2012. Distribution will be limited to selective European markets only.

ART COUTURE COLLECTION
The Art Couture Eyeshadow Base, which comes in a limited edition design, is a colour-neutral base that prevents eyeshadow from creasing. It is said to soothe redness with bisabolol and protect the skin with Vitamin E; eyeshadows are easier to apply and last longer.
The matt eyeshadows come in petrol tones such as matt dark blue (no. 586) and matt deep green (no. 592) as well as in berry tone matt smoky plum (no. 582). Also available are more subdued colors such as matt snow white (no. 510), matt nude blush (no. 538) and matt smoky mauve (no. 578).
For a more glamourous look, the range offers eyeshadows with pearl pigments. Pearly Anthracite (no. 02) combined with pearly white (no. 10) conjure a smoky eye effect, while pearly blue sky (no. 73) and pearly light blue (no. 75) create “a harmonious look”, Artdeco said. A wide range of classical shades is also available.
To store these eyeshadows in style there is the Art Couture Beauty Box Quattro, a magnetic box available in a limited-edition design.
Free of mineral oil, the perfume-free Art Couture Khol Liner has a highly pigmented tip that helps users draw precise, clear lines. With magnesium which protects and nourishes the eye area, this limited-edition liner is suitable for contact lens wearers and sensitive eyes. Artdeco suggests using the sharpener for wooden pencils to obtain a fine tip for precise results.
The Art Couture Lash Designer is designed to give lashes a more dramatic curl and extra volume, as well as optically lengthen them. Carnauba wax from the homonymous palm tree conditions the lashes and keeps them silky. This quick-drying mascara is suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers.
The Blusher comes in four newly proposed colors: orange blush (no. 11), beige rose blush (no. 18), oriental red blush (no. 35) and red orange blush (no. 44).
The collection’s Classic Art Couture Lipsticks come in trendy orange, red and pink nuances such as cream red muse (no. 208), cream orange sun (no. 217), cream exotic paradise (no. 222) and cream pink blossom (no. 261). A softer, more subtle look can be created with cream soft nude (no. 228), cream sparkling romance (no. 235), cream fading rose (no. 254) and cream pink blossom (no. 261). The creamy texture of this lipstick is especially long-lasting, while hop extract nourishes the delicate skin of the lips to keep them soft and supple, according to Artdeco.
The new Art Couture range will be available on the market as of mid-June 2012.
