Diageo and Moodie Davitt team up for ‘The Sunset Sessions’ in Cannes

FRANCE/INTERNATIONAL. Diageo Global Travel Retail has announced an exciting new collaboration with The Moodie Davitt Report. The drinks giant is teaming up with travel retail’s leading publisher for its ‘Ticket to Transformation’ activity at this year’s TFWA World Exhibition & Conference in Cannes.

Visitors to the conference are invited to attend ‘The Sunset Sessions’ hosted jointly by Diageo and The Moodie Davitt Report. Three panel discussions will take place at Majestic Beach Bar by the Palais Des Festivals across the evenings of 3, 4 and 5 October, beginning at 5pm each day, and focusing on three key topics.

A panel of experts comprising senior Diageo executives and industry partners, moderated respectively across the week by The Moodie Davitt Report Founder & Chairman Martin Moodie and President & Editorial Director Dermot Davitt, will offer a deep dive into major subjects transforming the global travel industry today.

Topics to be discussed by the panel include promoting positive drinking and responsible consumption; championing inclusion and diversity through building diverse teams in travel retail and beyond; and pioneering grain-to-glass sustainability as well as sustainable brand action within the travel retail channel.

Diageo is a global leader in beverage alcohol, owning high-profile brands such as Johnnie Walker, Crown Royal, JεB and Buchanan’s whiskies, Smirnoff, Cîroc and Ketel One vodkas, Captain Morgan, Baileys, Don Julio, Tanqueray and Guinness.

Newly-appointed Diageo Global Travel Managing Director Andrew Cowan said: “We are excited to be partnering with Moodie Davitt at Cannes this year. We are all looking ahead to a changed and in some ways refreshed industry. We believe that together at Cannes we can have those conversations which are most relevant and will support a sustainable future for travel retail and all our customers.”

The Moodie Davitt Report Founder and Chairman Martin Moodie said: “Diageo has been among those companies leading the way in talking about the challenges that face our industry. Those vital questions that matter most to our channel are those that we want to explore at Cannes.”

TFWA visitors are invited to grab a ‘sundowner’ of choice at the Diageo ENJOY bar before joining the panel sessions at Majestic Beach Bar from 5-5.45pm. Each will run for 30 to 45 minutes.
