Crafter’s gin expands its footprint in global travel retail

Estonian distillery Liviko is highlighting its Crafter’s gin range at the upcoming TFWA World Exhibition & Conference in Cannes (Red Village, J16).

Liviko noted the brand’s success in global travel retail since its launch three years ago and its plans to expand distribution in the channel, particularly in Europe and Asia.

Liviko said Crafter’s Gin secured a listing with Heinemann earlier this year. The brand is already available in some major European airports, in cities including Frankfurt, Berlin, Vienna and Copenhagen, and is set to appear in the Asia Pacific region in the coming weeks at airports in Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta and Sydney.

Inspired by the purity of Nordic nature: Crafter’s London Dry Gin is heading for the spotlight at Cannes.

Liviko Export Director Jörgen Herman said: “We are really looking forward to TFWA Cannes 2018 when our focus will be on Crafter’s gins and how we can work with operators to delight gin lovers around the world with this first-class, crafted spirit.

“The gin category is one of the most dynamic spirits markets to operate in and we are excited that the Crafter’s brand is doing so well. It offers a real point of difference and by increasing our investment and raising the profile of Crafter’s Gin in travel retail, we aim to develop and grow the brand across the globe.”

The Crafter’s Aromatic Flower Gin echoes the aromas of an Estonian summer.

The Crafter’s range includes London Dry Gin and Aromatic Flower Gin. Both are handcrafted in Estonia, copper-pot distilled and made in small batches. Liviko said both expressions are inspired by the “purity of Nordic nature”.

Crafter’s London Dry Gin was launched in 2015. Its recipe, known as Recipe No. 23, is declared on the bottle and includes veronica and fennel seeds. “Veronica adds a gentle floral softness and fennel seeds provide a contrasting spicy undertone,” Liviko said.

The hand-finished blue bottle features plant motifs and batch numbers. Each batch consists of 5,000 bottles.

Crafter’s Aromatic Flower Gin was first showcased at TFWA World Exhibition 2017. Liviko said the floral gin, which includes meadowsweet and rosehip, evokes Estonian summer aromas. Meadowsweet, it says, gives a sweet undertone, while rosehip petals give an aromatic scent. The golden-coloured gin turns pink when mixed with tonic.

Aromatic Flower Gin is available at selected Baltona and Lagardère duty free outlets and featured in an introductory campaign in Tallink Silja vessels.

Crafter’s is the official gin at The Scene at the upcoming TFWA event in Cannes. “Our aim with Crafter’s at this year’s TFWA World Exhibition & Conference is to ensure as many delegates as possible taste, experience and immerse themselves in this exciting, crafted gin brand,” Herman added.
