Fly Burger Bar Boutique: An airport first in Atlanta |
USA. Leading US food & beverage specialist Concessions International has opened the first airport Fly Burger Bar Boutique, a partnership with chef Tom Catherall, at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport’s newly renovated Concourse B.
Certified Master Chef Tom Catherall has a 30-year history with restaurants in the Atlanta area, and has 14 restaurants in his Here to Serve portfolio. Fly Burger Bar Boutique is the first concept created specifically for the airport environment.
“We carefully select each and every one of our concept partners,” said Concessions International CEO Donata Russell Major. “But Fly is an especially exciting operation to add to our portfolio. Tom Catherall is a culinary mastermind with proven success across multiple restaurant genres.”
Fly Burger Bar Boutique features a to-go counter and seating in the bar and dining areas, offering travellers a variety of options for meals before a flight.
Fly Burger Bar patties are made fresh daily from never-frozen angus beef. Menu creations include the Holy Guacamole, featuring freshly made guacamole; the Korean Kimchee, with sesame krispies and pickled vegetables; the Crabby Patty, made with lump crab, and the Veggie, topped with caramelized onions – each served with hand-cut French fries. Guests can also choose from a selection of fresh salads, all-day breakfast items as well as signature shakes.
Fly is the final of 11 concepts Concession International has opened in Concourse B of the Atlanta airport this year – including Paschal’s, Little Azio, Dos Equis Explorer Lounge, LottaFrutta and Fresh To Order (f2o). The concourse will have its official inauguration next week.
Its locations are operated through a joint venture with H&H Hospitality, an Atlanta ACDBE owned by Kevin Holt and Randy Hazelton, founders and former operators of Café Circa in Atlanta’s Historic Old Fourth Ward.
“With all of the selected brands having Atlanta roots, it was exciting for us to give everyone a real taste of Atlanta while traveling or coming home,” said Russell Major. “Whether you’re visiting Atlanta for the first time or a local, we really wanted to create an opportunity to connect customers to the city through our unique food.”
CI began working with Atlanta airport officials to renovate the food court and concourse areas of Concourse B in 2012.
