CNSC Sanya International Duty Free Plaza unveils bold new look

CHINA. CNSC Sanya International Duty Free Plaza today unveiled its new look in a key step forward for the Sinopharm-controlled travel retailer.

CNSC first opened in Sanya on 30 December 2020 in the heart of Sanya in a prime location adjacent to the yacht marina offering fabulous coastal scenery. The latest development extends the space and range of products, with a particular focus on the beauty, digital and health and wellness categories.

Concept & Design – A Journey to the Coast

The new look, covering 40,000sq m, was designed by Malherbe Paris, a leading French design firm renowned for its avant-garde fashion creativity. The shopping mall design concept, inspired by the sunny seashore of Hainan island, perfectly expresses the theme of ‘A Journey to the Coast’, CNSC said.

As reflected by the store’s stand-out wavy façade, inviting landscape and striking interior design, CNSC Sanya International Duty Free Plaza said that it is committed to creating a new tourism ecosystem combining premium duty free shopping, tour visiting, entertainment, healthcare and food & beverage.

Brands & Categories

During its first phase, CNSC Sanya International Duty Free Plaza has established cooperation with a series of internationally renowned brand houses such as LVMH, Kering, Richemont, Pernod Ricard, The Estée Lauder Companies, L’Oréal Group, Shiseido Group and more.

After the upgrading, the store will feature an extended and carefully crafted global brand mix including Dyson, Helena Rubinstein, Valentino, Givenchy, Dior, Armani and other global brands across fragrance, cosmetics, jewellery, handbags, fashion & accessories, watches, wines & spirits, digital products, outdoor sports, healthcare and other categories.

For renowned UK technology company Dyson, the opening represents its debut in the Hainan offshore duty free market. SimilarlyLuc Belaire will launch its first pop-up in Hainan, providing a “comprehensive and uplifting shopping experience” for customers, CNSC pledged.

CNSC’s duty free business traces back to 1980. As the first national duty free enterprise authorised by the State Council, the company holds a comprehensive duty free business licence covering offshore, downtown, port and overseas duty free.
