Clinique names Emilia Clarke as its first Global Brand Ambassador for skincare and makeup

Emilia Clarke: The face of Clinique skincare and makeup, as new additions to the offer hit travel retail shelves

Clinique has named critically acclaimed English actress Emilia Clarke as its first Global Brand Ambassador for skincare and makeup.

She stars in Clinique iD’s latest ‘This is my iD, iD Yourself’ campaign.

The campaign was launched today (15 January) and tells the story of Emilia Clarke’s own skincare journey with Clinique iD.

It highlights the latest additions to the Clinique iD Range, the Clinique iD Dramatically Different Moisturising BB-Gel and Clinique iD Dramatically Different Moisturizing Tone-Up Gel. Both are now available in travel retail.

The social media campaign, also starring Emilia Clarke, is branded under #iDYourself.

The Clinique iD collection offers 17 skincare and moisturising combinations. It allow customers to create their own personalised moisturisers to hydrate their skin and treat their own specific skincare concerns.

Clarke rose to fame for her role as ‘Dænerys Targaryen’ in hit HBO series ‘Game of Thrones’ for which she was nominated for four Emmys and two Critics’ Choice Awards.  She has recently appeared in films such as ‘Last Christmas,’ ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story,’ ‘Terminator: Genisys,’ and ‘Me Before You.’

According to Clinique Global Brand President Jane Lauder, Clarke represents the brand’s commitment to empowering women. She said: “Clinique has been a long-standing advocate for empowering women with the knowledge that good skin can be created. We were drawn to Emilia because she is optimistic, happy in her skin and embodies a modern multi-faceted woman who is constantly evolving along with her skincare needs.”

“She is also an authentic user and fan of Clinique, which was important to us. Emilia will lend her impactful voice to help inspire consumers to embrace their own unique skincare journey,” Lauder added.

In March 2019, Emilia Clarke launched her own charitable organisation called SAMEYOU, after overcoming a personal healthcare challenge. The charity aids young adults recover from brain injuries or stokes.

“I am so proud to join Clinique as the new Global Brand Ambassador. It is a skincare brand I have regularly used and to now be part of that family is such an honour. I love the confidence and happiness it brings to the people using their products,” said Clarke.
