French wines specialist AdVini has appointed Christophe Balaÿ in an advisory role as Senior Consultant for Travel Retail Business Development.

AdVini, leading producer and distributor of fine terroir wines, will participate in the upcoming TFWA World Exhibition (Green Village NR J68), where delegates can meet Balaÿ.

Balaÿ has previously worked with renowned firms in both the fragrances & cosmetics and wine & spirits sectors. He said: “As an experienced industry executive, I have held several travel retail positions in the last decade with both Gérard Bertrand and AdVini.”

The AdVini pop-up, which ran from January to May at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport Terminal 1, was reminiscent of traditional French markets

In recent years, the company has adopted a creative approach to travel retail through pop-ups and experiential activations.

Earlier this year – in partnership with Groupe ADP, Lagardère Travel Retail and Extime Duty Free Paris – AdVini unveiled the ‘Once Upon A Wine’ pop-up boutique at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport Terminal 1. The tasting and shopping experience was led by a professional sommelier.

AdVini owns estates and properties in Burgundy, Rhône Valley, Provence, Bordeaux and Languedoc-Roussillon; and several wine estates in Stellenbosch, South Africa. The company is also committed to environmental protection and sustainability.
