Changi Airport continues Sesame Street family fun events for June school holidays

SINGAPORE. Changi Airport is continuing its programme of Sesame Street-themed activities and events during the June school holidays.

Live shows and meet and greet sessions are taking place in Terminal 3. A travel theme is being highlighted by a series of scale reproductions of landmarks from Central and Eastern Europe made entirely out of cardboard.

The programme of events runs from today (25 May) until 24 June.

The Changi Loves Kids initiative allows children to meet with Sesame Street characters

“With the host of activities planned for this June school holidays, families will find their time at Changi Airport a fun and fulfilling one,” said Changi Airport Group Vice President for Landside Concessions James Fong.

“From opportunities to meet with familiar and timeless Sesame Street characters up close, to learning more about destinations in Central and Eastern Europe, there’s something for everyone in the family.”

Among the highlights, Changi will be the world premiere venue for a live show called ‘S is for Sharing’. It features characters such as Elmo, Cookie Monster, Bert and Ernie, and Abby Cadabby as they unravel a mystery package from Count von Count’s family in Romania.

The Changi Loves Kids campaign offers an interactive experience with the characters including fan meet and greet sessions and opportunities to take photographs with them every weekend.

The Discover Europe cardboard art installation (pictured above) features 3D Sesame Street characters dressed in traditional European costumes. Visitors who answer questions at the exhibition can redeem souvenirs, or stand a chance to win exclusive travel deals to the destinations showcased.

The Europe Bobsleigh Adventure ride (pictured below) is inspired by a bobsleigh track in Prague. There are two custom-made routes, including a 17 metre straight slide elevated at 1.8 metres or a 30 metre curvy slide.

In Terminal 4, the Sesame Street Inflatable Playground will return.

Gachapon machines will offer travellers the chance to win vouchers, Changi Gift Cards and Sesame Street goodies at the Sesame Street Retail Store in Terminal 3.

From 28 May, a limited-edition Sesame Street purchase-with-purchase will be offered with every minimum spend of S$60 (US$45). The storage boxes (pictured below) double up as a stool and come in three colourful designs.

In conjunction with the Changi Loves Kids activities, the first ‘Kidpreneur Bazaar’ will be held at the airport on 26 and 27 May at Terminal 3 Basement 2. Jointly organised by Changi Airport Group and Mums@Work, the initiative is aimed at children aged between the ages of 5 and 16 who have an interest in learning about entrepreneurship and running a business of their own.
